Jason McNeil
Jason has been in the waste management industry for over 20 years. During this time, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, and an MBA through the Gordons Institute of Business Science (GIBS). His broad involvement in the waste management sector, from day-to-day operations and sales-related functions, made him an ideal member for the Interwaste team. Jason joined Interwaste in 2008 as Group Sales Director, 11 years later, he took on the position of Chief Operating Officer, and in 2019 has been announced as Interwaste Chief Executive Officer. As a result of his roles in the company, Jason has gained extensive international exposure regarding best practice in the waste management industry. In addition to his many responsibilities, Jason is also a director of Masakhane Interwaste (Pty) Ltd.

World Environment Day – How is waste impacting our air?

Research from the World Health Organisation (WHO) indicates that seven million people die each year from air pollution, where nine out of ten people breathe in polluted air each day. “This is a staggering number and, this World Environment Day, we encourage all South Africans to strongly reflect on the role everyone has to play in this and, more importantly, what proactive steps can be taken to combat air pollution,” says Jason McNeil, CEO at Interwaste.
