A vision for a sustainable future

At Interwaste, we are committed to leading in the sustainable preservation of our environment. As one of the largest waste management organizations in southern Africa, our ultimate aim is to divert as much waste from landfill disposal as possible. We manage waste from point of generation to destination, efficiently servicing a range of sectors across southern Africa.

One way we assist our clients is by helping them transition to the circular economy way of thinking. The circular economy removes unnecessary waste materials, energy losses, and related carbon emissions across supply chains, and allows materials, energy, and resources to be fed back into the cycle. This opens opportunities to deliver on economic growth, job opportunities, and environmental practices that enable sustainable growth.

Recycling plays a crucial role in the circular economy. By recycling materials, we can reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfills and conserve natural resources. At Interwaste, we offer a range of recycling services to help our clients reduce their environmental impact.

The circular economy is also important from a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) perspective. In 2015, the United Nations Member States developed a collective blueprint for sustainability and development called the 2030 Plan. This plan includes 17 SDGs, which are an immediate call for action from all countries in the form of global collaboration . One solution for achieving these goals is transitioning from a linear economy to a circular economy.

As individuals and ordinary citizens, we can take action to preserve our planet through recycling. By recycling materials, we can reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.

We have created a dedicated website, which provides you with detailed information about recycling at an intricate level. By using this resource, you can be empowered to make informed decisions about your waste management practices and learn how you can contribute to a more sustainable future.
